The weekend gone by was truly amazing.. Saturday evening was the soft opening of Bubu Ogisi’s (Stylist and Creative designer of the Iamisigo Brand) showroom..I was totally intrigued from the onset.. Here’s why..
The event was well in full swing when I stopped by(8:30PM).. There was a great vibe in the air.. great artsy crowd and authentic pieces all stemming refreshingly from the spring of Iamisigo’s essence.. Most of the pieces had a similar aesthetic to the piece featured on the IV above.
They were by large a mix of bohemian grunge and contemporary cool..Absolutely lovely.. Outstanding decor.. and an all around great party. It felt like a new revolution..
In the design house’s words:
Colour Story: “Contrasts of White and Black, Grey and Silver, Yellow and Gold; done in silk, crepe de chine, cotton-poly blend, light tweeds, cotton twine, polyamide twine and mohair wool.Inspired by parallels between the designer’s youth and the American film Calamity Jane. 1950’s western, that chronicles a young Doris Day who embraces the duality of a masculinity and femininity, first as a ‘tomboy’ and then as a woman in pursuit of love.Ultrafeminity and hyper-masculinity contrast and complement each other and ultimately, birth a truly liberated woman, East of West“.
Bubu Ogisi further elaborates:
“The brand is diversifying into interior design and furniture..which explains the concept of the store’s interior centred around a “moving fashion”. We designed bicycle wheel racks and a dining set made out of 18 tyres”
Here are some images from the fun night..
