I walked into Mai Atafo’s fancy pancy studio and was instantly struck by this dress…It was on the mannequin and the frothy fluffy extravagance of it beckoned to me..I actually went to Mai’s studio on a separate agenda..solely to get his fancy Male tuxedos for a photo-shoot I was working on..That was the original plan..
It was love at first sight and bag it by all means. Mai was kind enough to give me the dress at a special price..Fashion insiders discount..
“All the while I was working out how to wear the dress in my head”…. YES I AM SICK LIKE THAT.. I totally planned to team it with an olive green jacket in my wardrobe.. Not for any particular reason..I assumed it would totally be too girly and sugary bubble gum pink sweet by itself… I WAS WRONG…. I wore it out the weekend gone past for a family wedding with my darling mommy..
My shoes are from Hobbs and bag by Qamin (Awesome Nigerian Designer).I accessorised with matching SILVER Swarovski earrings and neckpiece from mother dearest. Mom and I’s outfits totally matched..
It was a terrific wedding and I had a mighty great time… The next event was an intimate cocktail at the Wheatbaker hotel with Zashadu.
Zashadu is a luxury sustainable brand, that specialises in handcrafted leather pieces..It was a lovely interactive evening with the designer; Zainab Ashadu.. We got to listen to her speak passionately about the ethos of the brand..Sustainability.. and basically watch a visually appealing Zainab talk about her childhood and challenges… whilst viewing amazing bags and hobnobbing with fashion insiders… It couldn’t be a better evening.. Did i also mention fantastic food?
The Zashadu pieces are totally awesome.. I fell in love with this piece..called the Justice, pictured below and totally think I will order it.. It’s made of the finest leather..
We also got really amazing goodie bags.. I mean this quite literally.. I bagged a really cute leather Zashadu bag in the goodie bag.. I also got a chance to get a selife with my main ladies of the evening…

…and finally my evening ended with a major bonding session with Veronica Odeka (Vane Style) and her bump… Quite an emotional moment…
