Ejiro Amos Tafiri came to the shows with all guns blazing and a Rosary!!! Literally!! Her show started off with models holding burning incense round the halls, signifying the purification rites in the Catholic churches.. automatically transporting the crowd into holier/papal references. It was soon apparent why.
Most of the pieces had religious connotations in terms of the drawings on the fabric (Mary and Jesus), as well as the robely necklines on some of the pieces.. There were also gladiator sandals styled reminiscent of the Roman empire..The collection in its entirety had a resounding nod to the earlier eras! Absolutely Stunning!
The designer herself, matched out with the fittest legs ever and proved one really didn’t have to be stick thin to wear some of her racier designs…
