Tiffany Amber kick Started the LFDW shows… I sat eagerly awaiting this show and it certainly was not dis-appointing.. not in the least..
It started off with a really awesome speech by the designer..her voice resounded in poetic commanding tones.. followed by musicians with talking drums serenading the models in African music. Staying true to her signature maxis, this collection felt very wholesome.. They were no complicated designs, yet the models flowed in unism with the seamless beauty of the fabrics and the elegance of the styles.. It started off African then fused into more mainstream pieces..
In comparison to last year’s show, there was a distinct more African feel to her collections.. It was obvious she looked inwards and drew inspiration.. At a sweeping gaze, I felt the title “Lagos Unveliling” was most apt for her collection.. with the new take on the signature Iro and Buba , Off-shoulders, Garland Sleeves, rich hues and billowing palazzo pants.. Reminiscent of African Kaftans..There is a new African Movement and Tiffany Amber is most definitely on the forefront!
